Summary of Regional Drill Sept 6th

50,000 gallons with an average 476 gpm

All benchmarks were met. We had water flowing within 5 min of being on scene. The city engine crew did a fantastic job of being proactive, pulling 100’ of 5 inch supply line in preparation of 251 arriving. The crew on 251 just had to drive up, pick up the line, connect and pump. Although simple, the dump tank setup was effective, but could be improved. We held off on increasing our output to ensure we could sustain our initial operation of one deck gun. Within 20 min of setup we increased our output from 50 psi to 150 psi from a 2 1/2 inch outlet with a 5inch addapter for LDH, threefold! Halfway into the drill, we doubled our output by adding a ground monitor feed by two 2 ½ lines, and increased intake at the city engine by adding another 2 ½ supply line. At the height of the drill, we were flowing 120 psi on both master streams.( An estimated 400 gpm per monitor for a combined 800 gpm) All tankers had arrived and offloaded within the first 40 minutes. Thanks to all departments who brought resources to this drill. We hope to have another drill this spring to see what we can really do!!
